Kirinyaga residents have condemned Governor Anne Waiguru for importing youth from Nyeri and other neighbouring counties to cause violence and heckle leaders during Deputy President William Ruto's visit over the weekend.
The youth appealed to Governor Waiguru to stop importing youth from other counties to do her bidding and instead engage locals.
They claimed the Governor was using youth from as far as Karatina to heckle other leaders and deceive DP Ruto about her popularity.
"We are left to wonder if the people she imported will come to vote for her here, shouldn't she be engaging us. The Governor has lost ground and now she is playing dirty," said Mr Francis Karani.
They blamed Waiguru for acts of violence experienced during DP Ruto tour of the region.
"It is not okay for Governor Waiguru to hire goons from outside the county to cause mayhem in Kirinyaga County just to hoodwink DP Ruto," said Mr Boniface Wangunyo.
The youth have asked the Governor not to disrupt peace in the county.
They urged the Governor to focus on her duties of serving the people of Kirinyaga County, duties they claim she has neglected.
"We elected her to serve us, but all we see is cheap political theatrics, underdevelopment and a deteriorating county," said Mr Karani
