Middle aged man charged in a Nairobi court for pretending to be a senior police officer

A man has been charged before Nairobi law court on allegations of obtaining money by false pretense and purporting to be a senior police officers.

Kepha Sagana appeared before Milimani law courts senior Principal magistrate Martha Mutuku accused of obtaining Sh 191,000 from Dennis Momanyi.

Sagana who denied the charges had purported to be in a position to assist Momanyi be cleared from a list of wanted persons and also have his vehicle held by police in Isiolo released.

In the same court his co-accused Emmanuel Ngweno was set free after he refunded money he received from the complainant.

The two had been accused that, between 18th and 19th of November at Westland area of Nairobi County jointly with another not before court, they jointly obtained the money from Momanyi.

In the second count,Sagana is accused that on 17th November at Westlands area of Nairobi county,with intent to defraud falsely represented himself to Momanyi as a superintendent of police from directorate of criminal investigation attached at Interpol Unit.

Sagana was released on Sh 100,000 cash bail or a bond of sh 200,000
